TECHNICAL INFORMATION


The lower tailgate switch forms part of the electrical and mechanical release system used on the Discovery L319 split rear tailgate.


The Discovery uses an upper opening tailgate section together with a lower fold-down tailgate section. The switch allows the appropriate tailgate release function to be activated when the vehicle is unlocked and the required opening conditions are met.


The switch operates together with components including:


• Tailgate locking mechanisms
