This MAP (Manifold Absolute Pressure) sensor monitors the air pressure inside the intake manifold and sends this information to the engine control unit (ECU). The ECU uses these readings to calculate fuel delivery, ignition timing and engine load. A faulty MAP sensor can cause poor performance, increased fuel consumption and engine management faults.
