Original-period Serpi Star GM30 / XPI alarm and immobiliser system, removed from a 1992 Jaguar XJS 4.0.


The Serpi Star system is an aftermarket/period security installation commonly found on 1990s vehicles. It provides vehicle immobilisation and alarm functions, interrupting selected ignition/start circuits when armed. Jaguar XJS owners have documented similar period immobiliser installations on early-1990s cars, including systems that prevent starting when armed.
