TECHNICAL INFORMATION


The lumbar support assembly is installed inside the front seat backrest and forms part of the driver’s adjustable seating system.


Its purpose is to alter the support provided to the lower-back area, allowing the driver to adjust the seat for improved comfort and seating position.


Discovery 4 vehicles were available with several front-seat configurations, including manual adjustment, electric adjustment, memory functions and different lumbar/bolster arrangements. The replacement unit therefore needs to correspond with the original seat equipment.


SEAT SYSTEM INFORMATION


On electrically equipped seats, the lumbar system operates through the seat’s electrical adjustment system.


The Discovery 4 owner’s documentation confirms that electric front seats can incorporate separate lumbar adjustment as part of the seat controls.

Professional installation is recommended.


PROGRAMMING / CODING


The lumbar support mechanism itself would not normally require standalone programming when replaced with the correct matching component.
