TECHNICAL INFORMATION

The upper tailgate actuator is an electrically operated component within the Discovery’s rear tailgate release system.

When the tailgate release is requested, the vehicle supplies an electrical signal to the actuator. The actuator then moves the mechanical release mechanism/cable, allowing the upper tailgate latch to disengage.

The system operates in conjunction with:
