This combined pump supplies diesel fuel to the unit injectors while simultaneously generating vacuum for the brake servo and other vacuum-operated engine systems. Part number 038145209L is fitted to selected 1.9 TDI PD engines. It has been superseded by 038145209J on later vehicles.


A faulty tandem pump can cause hard starting, fuel leaks, poor engine performance, loss of turbo control, reduced brake servo assistance or engine management fault codes.
