Genuine used Volkswagen Transporter T5 heater blower motor / interior ventilation fan, part number 7H2819021B. This electric blower is fitted within the front heating and ventilation system and is responsible for moving air through the heater box and into the vehicle cabin through the dashboard, footwell and windscreen ventilation outlets.

Part Number: 7H2819021B

VW OE Number: 7H2 819 021 B

Part Type: Heater Blower Motor / Cabin Fan / HVAC Blower

Position: Front Heater Box / Dashboard Area

Application: Front Cabin Heating & Ventilation System

Vehicle Configuration: Commonly associated with RHD T5 applications – confirm OE number

Manufacturer: Volkswagen / OEM Supplier

Condition: Genuine used part

Compatibility

Suitable for selected:

* Volkswagen Transporter T5 – 2003–2009

* Volkswagen Caravelle T5 – selected versions

* Volkswagen Multivan T5 – selected versions

* Volkswagen California T5 – selected versions

* Panel van

* Kombi

* Shuttle / passenger variants

This blower is used on selected T5 vehicles with the corresponding front heater/HVAC system.

Fitment is primarily determined by the 7H2819021B OE number, heater-box specification and vehicle configuration rather than engine size.

Technical Information

The heater blower motor is the main electric fan responsible for creating airflow through the vehicle’s front HVAC system.

When the driver selects a blower speed, the motor rotates the fan wheel and draws air into the heater/ventilation housing.

The air is then directed through the HVAC system and distributed to the selected outlets.

The blower provides airflow for:

* Windscreen demisting

* Windscreen defrosting

* Dashboard ventilation

* Face-level vents

* Footwell heating

* Cabin heating

* Fresh-air ventilation

* Air-conditioning airflow where A/C is fitted

Without a correctly operating blower motor, the heater matrix may still become hot, but very little warm air will be circulated through the cabin.

Heating & Ventilation System Information

The blower motor works together with several HVAC components, including:

* Heater control panel

* Blower resistor / speed controller

* Heater matrix

* Air-distribution flaps

* Flap actuators

* Air-conditioning evaporator where fitted

* Dashboard air ducts and vents

The motor itself produces airflow; it does not control the temperature of the air.

Cabin temperature is controlled through the heater/HVAC system by directing air through or around the heater matrix and, where fitted, the air-conditioning evaporator.

Blower Speed Control

A blower motor fault should not automatically be assumed when some fan speeds stop working.

Depending on the vehicle’s HVAC specification, blower speed is controlled through a resistor or electronic speed-control unit.

A failed resistor/controller may cause symptoms such as:

* Fan working only on maximum speed

* One or more blower speeds missing

* Intermittent fan operation

* Fan not responding correctly to the control setting

If the blower is completely inoperative, the motor, fuse, power supply, earth and speed-control circuit should all be tested.

Common Symptoms / Reasons for Replacement

Typical symptoms of a worn or faulty blower motor include:

* Cabin fan not operating

* Blower working intermittently

* Fan starting only after hitting or disturbing the dashboard

* Slow airflow despite a high fan setting

* Squeaking from the blower

* Chirping or scraping noises

* Rumbling from worn motor bearings

* Fan vibration

* Burning smell from the blower area

* Motor becoming excessively hot

* Blown HVAC fuse

* Fan stopping after operating for a period of time

A worn motor may initially become noisy before failing completely.

Important Diagnostic Information

Before replacing the blower motor, check:

* HVAC/blower fuses

* Blower resistor or electronic controller

* Heater control panel

* Motor power supply

* Earth connection

* Electrical connector

* Wiring condition

* Fan wheel for obstruction

* Air intake for leaves or debris

If the blower operates correctly when supplied with appropriate direct test power but does not operate through the vehicle controls, the problem may be in the resistor/controller, wiring or heater control system rather than the motor.

Reduced Airflow Diagnosis

If the fan can clearly be heard running at normal speed but airflow from the vents is weak, the blower motor may not be the cause.

Check for:

* Restricted air intake

* Blocked pollen/cabin filter where fitted

* Heater-box obstruction

* Incorrectly operating distribution flaps

* Disconnected air ducts

* Damaged flap actuators

These faults can reduce airflow even when the blower motor is operating correctly.

Installation

The blower motor is fitted to the front HVAC/heater housing.

Installation may require removal of surrounding lower dashboard or heater-box trim depending on vehicle specification.

During installation:

* Disconnect electrical power appropriately

* Inspect the electrical connector for heat damage

* Remove debris from the heater housing

* Check the fan wheel for damage

* Ensure the replacement motor is correctly seated

* Secure all mounting points

* Reconnect the electrical connector fully

After installation, test the blower through all available fan-speed settings.

Also listen for rubbing, excessive vibration or unusual bearing noise.

Programming / Coding

No programming or coding is normally required.

The blower motor is an electrical motor component and should operate once correctly installed and connected.

Important Compatibility Note

Please compare before ordering:

* OE number – 7H2819021B

* Electrical connector

* Connector pin arrangement

* Fan-wheel design

* Motor housing

* Mounting points

* Heater-box specification

* RHD/LHD configuration where applicable

* Vehicle production date

T5 vehicles were produced with different heating, ventilation and air-conditioning configurations, so do not purchase solely by model year.

Matching 7H2819021B directly with the original blower motor is strongly recommended.

Condition

Genuine Volkswagen used electrical/HVAC component.

The item may show normal signs of previous use, including dust, light marks, scratches or cosmetic wear.

Please inspect the listing photographs carefully for the exact condition of the fan wheel, motor housing, electrical connector and mounting points.

Any identifying colour/security markings applied to the part must remain intact in the event of a return.

Ideal genuine replacement for a noisy, seized, intermittent or non-operating Volkswagen Transporter T5 front heater blower motor, provided 7H2819021B matches the original unit.
